چکیده

Visual servo can be achieved by extracting motion information from the optical flow, defined as the apparent motion of brightness patterns of an image. Control performance using this technique fully depends on accurate estimation of the flow velocities. It appears that most correct values of the optical flow usually locate at the regions with image features. In this paper, feature-based optical flow computation methods are presented. The approaches of scatter of brightness, edge acquisition, and feature orientation are developed. Simulation studies on six test images were conducted to demonstrate accuracy improvement of the estimated optical flow. Keyword: Image features, Machine vision, Optical flow, Visual flow.

Computation Optical Flow Using Pipeline Architecture

Accurate estimation of motion from time-varying imagery has been a popular problem in vision studies, This information can be used in segmentation, 3D motion and shape recovery, target tracking, and other problems in scene analysis and interpretation. We have presented a dynamic image model for estimating image motion from image sequences, and have shown how the solution can be obtained from a ...

Optical Flow Estimation Using Local Features

The computation of optical flow by the differential method imposes additional constraints to the one already imposed in the derivation of the optical flow equation. Consequently, the computation of optical flow using differential methods is computationally expensive especially for devices such as mobile phones, which have low processing power. In this work, we propose an optical flow computatio...

Facial Feature Points Tracking Based on AAM with Optical Flow Constrained Initialization

Abstract A facial feature points tracking method is proposed by adding Lucas-Kanade optical flow constraint on the face alignment algorithm, Active Appearance Model (AAM). The optical flow considers the inter-frame correspondence and uses it to estimate AAM initial shape more accurately with similarity preservation. Experiments show that the proposed method can successfully track the frames tha...

Reliable detection of camera motion based on weighted optical flow fitting

Our goal in this paper is the reliable detection of camera motion (pan/zoom/tilt) in video records. We propose an algorithm based on weighted optical flow least-square fitting, where an iterative procedure is used to improve the corresponding weights. To the optical flow computation we used the Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi feature tracker. Besides detecting camera motion, our algorithm provides a precis...

External and Internal Incompressible Viscous Flows Computation using Taylor Series Expansion and Least Square based Lattice Boltzmann Method

The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) has recently become an alternative and promising computational fluid dynamics approach for simulating complex fluid flows. Despite its enormous success in many practical applications, the standard LBM is restricted to the lattice uniformity in the physical space. This is the main drawback of the standard LBM for flow problems with complex geometry. Several app...
